David L. Lawrence Convention Center: booth rentals and exhibitor notes
Riverfront Pittsburgh center with 313,400 square feet of exhibit space on two levels and a skywalk to the Westin.
At a glance
The David L. Lawrence Convention Center explicitly welcomes exhibitors' own wireless hotspots, though booth power and wired internet still come only through the DLCC and its telecom partner showNets. ConventionVendor.com rents booth technology for Pittsburgh shows, including cellular hotspots, and delivers it for move-in. Check your show's exhibitor manual too, since a show can set its own rules.
Exhibiting at David L. Lawrence Center
The David L. Lawrence Convention Center stands on 7.9 acres along the south shore of the Allegheny River, between the Cultural District and the Strip District. Designed by Rafael Viñoly and opened in September 2003, the 1.5 million square foot building is managed by Legends Global. Its 313,400 square feet of exhibit space, 236,000 of it column-free, is split across two levels: Halls D and E on level 1 and Halls A, B and C on level 2.
Meeting rooms and the 31,600-square-foot Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom occupy level 3, where a skywalk leads to the Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh. Anthrocon has used the building and the Westin, and the Pittsburgh Pet Expo is on the official calendar for November 2026. Utilities, labor, cleaning and telecom are exclusive DLCC services, and the venue runs its own service desk beside the GSC's during a show.

Facts checked October 15, 2026 against the sources listed below. Schedules and providers can change from show to show; your exhibitor manual has the final word.
Power, internet, and Wi-Fi
- Utilities are an exclusive DLCC service, so booth power is ordered through the DLCC's online portal.
- showNets holds the exclusive for telecommunications, wired and wireless, and private and shared wired connections run on enterprise Cisco equipment.
- The DLCC exhibitor FAQ says you are welcome to bring your own wireless hotspot. Your show can still set its own rules, so confirm in the exhibitor manual.
- Free guest Wi-Fi covers lobbies, concourses and pre-function areas but not the exhibit halls, meeting rooms or ballrooms; paid DLCC Exhibit or DLCC Premium Wi-Fi is sold per device, per day. A rented cellular hotspot or a wired line both work for the booth, and our gear plugs into the power you order.
Move-in and delivery
- The building has 37 covered loading areas: 8 docks and 2 drive-in ramps on level 1 for Halls D and E, and 24 docks and 3 ramps on level 2 for Halls A, B and C. The dock entrance is on Ft. Duquesne Blvd. between 9th and 10th Streets.
- Advance shipments are not accepted, and boxes may arrive only during move-in. Exhibitors can unload personal vehicles in a designated POV lane on the dock.
- Truck marshalling uses North Shore sites staffed by the service contractor, and show management and the GSC set each show's schedule.
- We deliver on your move-in dates to the level your hall is on. If an exhibitor-appointed contractor form is required, list ConventionVendor.com.
What exhibitors rent at David L. Lawrence Center
- Show Wi-Fi, Hotspots, and Connectivity: The DLCC explicitly allows exhibitor hotspots and free Wi-Fi stops short of the exhibit halls, so a rented cellular hotspot can connect your booth where your show permits.
- Booth Tech Kits: Lead Capture iPads, Screens, and Charging: Lead capture iPads with offline mode keep scanning whether you connect through a hotspot or DLCC Wi-Fi.
- Booth TVs, Monitors, and Video Walls: Displays plug into the power you order through the DLCC portal, whichever level your hall is on.
Before you exhibit at David L. Lawrence Center
- Bring or rent a hotspot if your booth needs connectivity without an ordered line; the DLCC allows them, and the free Wi-Fi does not reach the halls.
- Check whether your hall is on level 1 or level 2 before routing freight, since each level has its own docks and ramps.
- Use the GSC's advance warehouse instead of shipping early to the building.
- Your show's service contractor can hang banners and signs up to 150 pounds that need no motor; heavier or motorized rigging goes through DLCC Technical Services review.
- Look for the DLCC service desk beside the GSC's when you have power or internet questions on site.
Schedules, deadlines, and service providers can change from show to show. Always confirm details in your show's exhibitor manual. Our exhibitor timeline lists what to order and when.
