Indiana Convention Center: booth rentals and exhibitor notes
Downtown Indianapolis convention center with 566,600 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, a walkway to Lucas Oil Stadium, and strict rules against exhibitor wireless equipment.
At a glance
The Indiana Convention Center prohibits exhibitor equipment that broadcasts on 2.4 or 5 GHz, including access points and Mi-Fi hotspots, so booth internet comes from Smart City Networks and power from the venue's own electricians. ConventionVendor.com rents booth technology for Indianapolis shows, delivered for move-in, with lead capture that works offline.
Exhibiting at Indiana Convention Center
The Indiana Convention Center sits on Capitol Avenue in downtown Indianapolis, with 11 exhibit halls offering 566,600 square feet of contiguous space and an enclosed walkway to Lucas Oil Stadium, which adds 183,000 square feet of its own. Skywalks tie the building to more than 4,700 hotel rooms, five hotels directly and more through the Circle Centre complex, so attendees can move between hotel and hall without stepping outside. The National FFA Convention & Expo appears on the venue calendar.
A sixth expansion, including a 50,455-square-foot ballroom and the attached 800-room Signia by Hilton Indianapolis linked by a skywalk over Capitol Avenue, is scheduled to open in December 2026. Until then, the 33,335-square-foot Sagamore Ballroom is the largest of the three existing ballrooms. Logistics are tightly managed: ICCLOS personnel make every connection to building utilities and hang all signs and banners, union labor is used exclusively, and dock guards are required during move-in and move-out. The published wireless rules are strict, so plan every connected device in your booth around a wired drop.

Facts checked October 15, 2026 against the sources listed below. Schedules and providers can change from show to show; your exhibitor manual has the final word.
Power, internet, and Wi-Fi
- All connections to building utilities, including power, are made by ICCLOS personnel (the in-house team that runs the convention center and Lucas Oil Stadium), so order booth electrical through the venue before your deadline.
- Smart City Networks is the exclusive internet provider, offering shared and dedicated wired Ethernet, 5 GHz exhibitor Wi-Fi, custom booth wireless, and booth-to-booth networking.
- The ICCLOS Facility Guide (revised April 2026) strictly prohibits exhibitor equipment broadcasting in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz ranges, naming wireless access points, cellular Mi-Fi devices, wireless printers, wireless A/V senders, wireless speakers, and two-way systems. It also asks everyone to turn off personal hotspots and says outlet-powered wireless devices can be ordered removed.
- Complimentary Wi-Fi reaches lobbies and common areas only, so a wired Smart City drop is the dependable route for demos and syncing leads.
- Mention this rule when you request a quote so the badge printers and other gear we propose connect by cable instead of broadcasting their own wireless signal.
Move-in and delivery
- The 49 loading docks and seven drive-in ramps sit at the rear of the exhibit halls, entered from West Street; the convention center's delivery address is 5 South Missouri Street.
- Lucas Oil Stadium halls use a separate indoor dock with 11 bays off northbound Missouri Street, and some convention center halls must be booked together to reach a dock.
- Shipments must not arrive before the decorator or show is on site, misdirected freight is refused, and dock guards are required during move-in and move-out. Your show's management and general service contractor publish the schedule.
- We schedule rental delivery around your show's freight rules and move-in window, and we can be listed on an exhibitor-appointed contractor form if your show requires one.
What exhibitors rent at Indiana Convention Center
- Booth Tech Kits: Lead Capture iPads, Screens, and Charging: Lead capture iPads that store scans offline suit a venue where exhibitor hotspots and access points are prohibited.
- Registration, Check-In, and Badge Printing: Wireless printers are on the facility's prohibited list, so plan registration stations around cabled badge printers and a wired Smart City connection.
- Booth TVs, Monitors, and Video Walls: Load your booth video onto the display or a connected laptop before move-in so the screen runs without any booth Wi-Fi.
- Show Wi-Fi, Hotspots, and Connectivity: Hotspots are not for this show floor; use ours for hotel suites, off-site events, and offices away from the facility.
Before you exhibit at Indiana Convention Center
- Leave personal routers, Mi-Fi devices, and wireless speakers at the office; order Smart City booth wireless or a wired line instead.
- Order electrical and any sign or banner hanging through the venue in advance, since only ICCLOS staff may make those connections and hangs.
- Ship to your decorator's warehouse, or time direct freight to 5 South Missouri Street for when the decorator is on site.
- If your booth is in a Lucas Oil Stadium hall, tell your carrier to use the stadium's Missouri Street dock.
- Book a hotel on the skywalk network so booth staff can walk to the hall indoors.
Schedules, deadlines, and service providers can change from show to show. Always confirm details in your show's exhibitor manual. Our exhibitor timeline lists what to order and when.
Indiana Convention Center FAQ
Can I use a Mi-Fi or hotspot at the Indiana Convention Center?
No. The ICCLOS Facility Guide strictly prohibits exhibitor equipment broadcasting on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz and names cellular Mi-Fi devices and wireless access points. Order booth internet from Smart City Networks, the exclusive provider, and check your exhibitor manual for any show-level additions.
Is the Indiana Convention Center expansion open?
Not yet. The sixth expansion, with a 50,455-square-foot ballroom and the attached 800-room Signia by Hilton Indianapolis, is scheduled to open in December 2026. Until it opens, plan around the existing halls, meeting rooms, and ballrooms.
Where do I send freight for the Indiana Convention Center?
Use the address in your exhibitor manual. The venue lists 5 South Missouri Street as the convention center delivery address and a separate Missouri Street dock for Lucas Oil Stadium, and it refuses shipments that arrive before the decorator or show is on site.
