Miami Beach Convention Center: booth rentals and exhibitor notes

A renovated single-building venue in Miami Beach's City Center with a contiguous four-hall exhibit floor, Smart City internet, and tight dock capacity.

At a glance

At the Miami Beach Convention Center, Smart City Networks is the exclusive internet provider, booth power comes through an approved electrical contractor rather than an exclusive one, and the building accepts no package deliveries. ConventionVendor.com rents booth displays, iPads, kiosks, and registration equipment delivered for move-in on your show's schedule.

Exhibiting at Miami Beach Convention Center

The Miami Beach Convention Center sits in the City Center district near Lincoln Road and South Beach, owned by the City of Miami Beach and managed by OVG360. A renovation and expansion completed in 2020 left about 1.4 million square feet of flexible space, including the contiguous Exhibit Hall ABCD (491,651 gross square feet), the 60,979 square foot Grand Ballroom, four junior ballrooms, up to 84 meeting rooms, and a 98,495 square foot Grand Lobby beside Pride Park. Halls, ballrooms, and meeting rooms are wired with CAT6 and fiber, and hall floor boxes on a 30 foot grid carry electric, network, and drain lines. There is no attached hotel yet: the 800-room Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, connected by skybridge, topped off in July 2026 and is slated to open in late 2027.

Art Basel Miami Beach and eMerge Americas exhibit here, and the building is one of several venues for the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show. Logistics are compact: two loading docks serve the building, an off-site marshalling yard may be used, and no packages are accepted at all. Electrical is open to approved contractors, while internet, catering, and valet are exclusive. Rigging plans need Encore approval, and IATSE Local 500 provides rigging labor in the halls and ballrooms.

Facts checked October 15, 2026 against the sources listed below. Schedules and providers can change from show to show; your exhibitor manual has the final word.

Power, internet, and Wi-Fi

  • Booth electrical is not exclusive here: only approved, licensed, insured electrical partners may connect to venue power, and the venue lists Edlen Electrical Exhibition Services as approved. Your exhibitor kit names the contractor for your show.
  • Smart City Networks is the exclusive internet and telecommunications provider, selling shared and dedicated wired internet, booth hotspots or custom 5 GHz booth networks, and phone lines.
  • Smart City's earlier exhibitor contract for this building (2020-2022) prohibited unauthorized access points and asked for 21 days' notice for wireless products, while its FAQ said a personal mobile hotspot would work subject to carrier capacity. The 2026 planning guide does not restate these rules, so confirm current terms with Smart City and your show.
  • Free basic Wi-Fi covers common areas and meeting rooms, not exhibit halls unless the show arranges it. Plan a wired drop for demos; our gear plugs into the power you order, and lead capture iPads can keep scanning offline when your app supports it.

Move-in and delivery

  • The building accepts no package deliveries, including UPS and FedEx, so all shipments go through the show's general contractor.
  • The North Loading Dock (entry at 2000 Convention Center Drive) has 18 slips plus staging for 12 semi-trailers, and the South Loading Dock at Convention Center Drive and 18th Street holds about 16 trailers. An off-site marshalling yard may be required, and no loading is allowed at the front guest entrances.
  • Hand-carry is limited to FAA carry-on size rolling bags, with no carts or trolleys, through the Convention Center Drive west or Washington Avenue east entrances.
  • Dock times and move-in schedules come from show management and the GSC. We set our delivery to fit and can be named on your exhibitor-appointed contractor form if the show requires one.

What exhibitors rent at Miami Beach Convention Center

Before you exhibit at Miami Beach Convention Center

  • Request your dock time from the GSC early; with about 18 North and 13 South slips, capacity is tight.
  • Do not mail anything to the building address, because deliveries are not accepted there.
  • If you plan to run any wireless gear in your booth, contact Smart City well before move-in.
  • Booth catering, including sampling, goes through Sodexo Live!, the exclusive caterer.
  • Overhead rigging needs Encore plan approval and IATSE Local 500 labor (trade-show aisle signage is an exception).

Schedules, deadlines, and service providers can change from show to show. Always confirm details in your show's exhibitor manual. Our exhibitor timeline lists what to order and when.

Miami Beach Convention Center FAQ

Can I use a mobile hotspot at the Miami Beach Convention Center?

Possibly, but confirm first. Smart City's 2020-2022 exhibitor guide for the building said a personal mobile hotspot would work subject to carrier capacity, while also prohibiting unauthorized access points. Current terms were not restated in the 2026 planning guide, so check your exhibitor manual and ask Smart City.

Who provides booth electrical at the Miami Beach Convention Center?

Electrical is not exclusive at this venue. Only approved, licensed, insured electrical partners may connect to venue power, and Edlen Electrical Exhibition Services is listed as approved. Look in your exhibitor manual for the electrical order form your show uses.

Can I hand-carry equipment into the Miami Beach Convention Center?

Only in FAA carry-on size rolling bags, without carts or trolleys, through the Convention Center Drive west or Washington Avenue east entrances. Larger items go through the general contractor, and our deliveries follow your show's move-in schedule.
